So it’s been a few days since I’ve written in my blog,

not because nothing’s been happening but because I just haven’t really had the inclination to do so in my free time. Instead, I’ve been visiting people and trying to keep up with my work. I spent an hour with a family I know in Jenrok yesterday. Their kids are so cute. I took some pictures of them jumping off the wreckage of part of a car.

I finally went swimming in the lagoon today. I’ve been waiting until high tide was not at 7AM or 11PM. But, while it was high tide today at noon, it was actually not that sunny. The water was still nice, and a floated and paddled around for a bit. When I got out, I decided to look for some shells for my nieces. 4 little boys came by and offered to help me, and they found me some nice shells. I took some pictures of them when we were done and gave them each a quarter when they asked.

]There was something rather surprising that I came across as I was walking down the street: a Marshallese couple holding hands. That is really not done in Marshallese culture, so I was super surprised and found myself staring and trying to figure out why they were doing it. It’s quite a change from BYU, where there are couples engaged in PDA about every 5 feet.

So in case anyone is wondering, I am not good at formatting with my blog, which is why the pictures always turn out weird. Oh well, let's blame it on some wacky internet thing that is a consequence of my being here.
